We should probably say, who am I?
My name is Mathias. I build websites and also work with artificial intelligence to turn photos into animated mini-videos.
Where did the idea for Souvenirs Vivants come from?
It all started on a family weekend. I was showing what I was working on — partly out of curiosity, partly to share. And at one point, I animated an old photo… and my grandfather "came back to life" for a few seconds.
My aunt had tears in her eyes.
In the moment, I had a real doubt: "Oh no… did I just hurt her?"
So I apologised. Then she replied:
"No… it made me feel nostalgic. Thank you."
And that's when I understood it wasn't just "a cool bit of tech".
It was a bridge. A small bridge between the present and the people who still matter, even when they're no longer here.
After that, I asked myself a simple question:
Would other people want to experience this too?
Or even give this moment to a parent, a grandparent, a loved one?
So I decided to do it properly:
a simple website, a clear service, and the chance for anyone to bring a memory back to life in just a few seconds.
My commitment
I'm the only one behind this project, and that's also why it matters to me.
Souvenirs Vivants is a way of saying:
"I remember. And I can see it again, just for a moment."
Our mission
Souvenirs Vivants exists for a simple reason: to help families stay close despite distance, time, and generations that see each other less often. Family photos often sit at the bottom of a phone. Old memories sleep in boxes. Our role is to give them a place in everyday life again — whether displayed on a connected photo frame or gently animated by our artificial intelligence.
This mission takes shape in two complementary services. On one side, WiFi digital photo frames that make sharing family photos as easy as sending a message. On the other, the Bring a Moment to Life service, which turns a family photo into a few-second memory mini-video. Two tools, one intention: passing on memories and creating bonds between the people we love.
How we work
Everything we offer is designed to stay simple for families. Frames connect in a few minutes via the Frameo app. Photos arrive automatically at your loved ones' homes. The AI animation service relies on tested models, but above all on systematic human review before every delivery. No automatic sending of an animation that wouldn't feel natural or respectful.
When a photo touches on something sensitive — a loved one who has passed away, an old wedding, a childhood memory — we take the time needed. The result must preserve the gentleness of the original image. That's why our turnaround is 24–48 hours rather than instant: it's the time needed to do things right.
